On Sunday, January 12th, 2025, Carn Runners actively participated in the Cornwall Running Show at the Penventon Park Hotel in Redruth. The event celebrated Cornwall’s vibrant running community, featuring local exhibitors, guest speakers, and various activities for running enthusiasts.

Carn Runners hosted an engaging table, offering insights into the club’s activities, upcoming events, and membership opportunities. Our representatives connected with attendees, sharing the club’s mission to promote inclusive and supportive running experiences for individuals of all abilities.

A highlight of our participation was leading guided runs and warm-up sessions. At 9:15 AM, Jan Watson led an energetic dynamic warm-up session for all participants. Following the warm-up, Steve led a group on a 5.5-mile route, taking on rougher terrain and at a faster pace up and over Carn Brea monument. Simultaneously, Dawn led a large group on a 4.5-mile option, taking a lower, muddy route at an easier pace, utilizing the footpaths around the Carn. Both runs visited local mine buildings, offering participants a glimpse into the area’s rich heritage.

Reflecting on the event, Steve commented, “It was inspiring to see so many individuals passionate about running come together. Leading the guided run allowed us to share some of our favorite local trails and connect with fellow runners.”

The Cornwall Running Show provided an excellent platform for Carn Runners to engage with the broader running community, fostering connections and sharing our club’s enthusiasm for the sport. We look forward to participating in future events and continuing to support and inspire runners throughout Cornwall.
