Carn Runners Conquer Elche Half Marathon and Reconnect with Former Members

On Sunday, 23rd March 2025, Carn Runners members Andy and Laura participated in the historic Elche Half Marathon in Spain. Both runners completed the race successfully and praised the event for its excellent organisation and the charm of the host city. They highlighted Elche as a delightful place to stay.

During their visit, Andy and Laura also had the pleasure of reconnecting with former Carn Runners members Kim and Gary, who now reside in Spain. This reunion added a special touch to their racing experience, strengthening the enduring bonds within the Carn Runners community.​

About the Elche Half Marathon

The Elche Half Marathon, known as the world’s oldest half marathon, first took place in 1968. The 52nd edition of this prestigious event featured both a 21.097 km half marathon and a 10 km race, attracting runners from around the globe. The course offers participants a scenic route through the city, including parts of the historic Palm Grove, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
