On Sunday, 16th March 2025, Carn Runners showcased their collective spirit and dedication at the Falmouth Half Marathon. This event, celebrated for its scenic coastal route and challenging hills, provided an excellent platform for our members to demonstrate their commitment to the sport and to each other.
Team Participation
Our club was proudly represented by Glynn, Tommy, Dan, Tori, Debbie, Becky, Lyndsey, and Janet. Each member approached the race with determination, embodying the supportive and inclusive ethos of Carn Runners. Their collective participation highlights the strength of our community and our shared passion for running.
Personal Achievements
- Glynn and Tommy both achieved first place in their respective age categories, a testament to their dedication and consistent training.
- Tori celebrated a personal milestone by completing the half marathon in under two hours, surpassing her own expectations and setting a new personal best.
Event Overview
Organised by Cornwall Hospice Care with support from Falmouth Running Club, the Falmouth Half Marathon is a highlight in the Cornish running calendar. The 13.1-mile route begins near the Princess Pavilion, guiding runners along the coast past Falmouth’s beautiful beaches and through picturesque countryside lanes. This year, the event reached its capacity of 850 participants, reflecting its growing popularity among both local and visiting runners.
