Carn Runners have recently embraced both mental and physical challenges, participating in a local pub quiz and embarking on a scenic weekend run from Camborne to Hayle.
Monthly Pub Quiz Participation
On Sunday, 2nd March 2025, club members attended the first of a monthly pub quiz series held on the first Sunday of each month at the New Inn Illogan. The event saw a strong turnout, with members forming two teams. One team achieved an impressive 3rd place, earning a prize of chicken nuggets, while the other team secured a respectable 5th place. The evening was filled with camaraderie and friendly competition, and members are eagerly anticipating the next quiz night.
Weekend Run from Camborne to Hayle
Earlier that weekend, seven members embarked on a picturesque run from Camborne to Hayle. The route offered diverse terrains and scenic views, making it a favourite among local runners. After completing the run, participants enjoyed refreshments at Gilbert’s, a local establishment known for its welcoming atmosphere and proximity to Hayle Beach. The group then returned to Camborne by train, reflecting on the enjoyable experience and the strong sense of community within the club.
