Mark and Jo raise funds for Macmillan

A Helston based Financial Planner and his wife completed the Great North Run, the biggest half marathon in the world in Newcastle, on Sunday 8th September.

Carn Runners Mark Smitheram and his wife Jo ran their first London half marathon earlier this year with another couple and wanted to raise some additional funds for another good cause.

Together they have raised over £500 for Macmillan to help fight cancer and thanked family and friends for their support.

We both felt it was an amazing experience to be part of such an iconic event and run in the same race as Sir Mo Farah and celebrities such as Olly Murs and Vicky Pattison.

Mark said: “My legs are hurting a lot but once the pain is gone, we will have some very special memories to keep forever.”

Both Mark and Jo are regular runners at the Penrose Park Run which takes place every Saturday at 9am, from which it all started a few years ago.
